About TrailSim

Because "this country has 99% population coverage" means nothing at kilometer 60 of a trail.

Why we exist

Travel eSIMs are sold by country. Trails don't care about countries. Population coverage statistics describe cities — but hikers, cyclists and road-trippers spend their days precisely where the population isn't. TrailSim exists to answer one question honestly: on your route, which eSIM actually keeps you connected?

TrailSim is an independent eSIM service built for outdoor travelers. We compile public carrier coverage data and community reports, compare carriers segment by segment along each route, and recommend the eSIM with the best signal for that route. Every order includes an offline GPX/PDF map marking the dead zones — so you know before you set off where you'll be reachable and where you won't.

What we believe

Honest data

We tell you where our data is strong and where it's thin. A dead zone on the map beats a surprise on the trail.

Routes, not countries

Every recommendation is built from the actual line you'll walk, ride or drive — not a national statistic.

Offline first

The most important information we give you is designed to work with no signal at all.

Contact

Questions, corrections to our coverage data, or a route you'd like us to add: support@trailsim.com. Trail reports from the field are especially welcome — they make the maps better for everyone behind you.

Know your signal before you go

Tell us your route — we'll send the coverage report and the best eSIM match for it.
