What data does TrailSim collect?
Route report and support requests
We collect the information you submit, such as your email address, route, travel mode, trip date or length, and any optional message. If you contact support, we receive the content of your message and the contact information you use.
Technical request information
We may record standard technical information supplied with a request, including your browser's user-agent string and an approximate country and city derived by Cloudflare from your connection. This helps us operate the service and understand route demand.
Checkout and eSIM fulfillment
When you buy an eSIM, we process the selected package, order identifiers, payment status and the information needed to deliver and support the eSIM. Stripe handles payment-card entry on its hosted checkout; TrailSim does not receive or store your full card number. Sensitive eSIM activation profile data stored by TrailSim is encrypted.
Anonymous usage events
We record limited events such as a route page or plan selection. These analytics events do not include a name or email address and are used to understand which routes and plans visitors find useful.
How does TrailSim use personal data?
- To prepare or provide the route report, eSIM order or support response you requested.
- To send service emails, including report links, order delivery and important service updates.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the website and fulfillment process.
- To maintain order records and meet applicable legal or accounting obligations.
TrailSim does not sell personal data, share it with advertisers or add report-request emails to unrelated marketing lists.
Which service providers process data?
TrailSim uses service providers only where needed to operate and deliver the service:
- Cloudflare hosts the website, Workers and D1 databases.
- Amazon Web Services SES delivers transactional service emails.
- Stripe provides the hosted checkout and processes payments.
These providers process information under their own privacy and security terms and may process it in countries other than your own. We share only the information reasonably needed for the relevant service.
Where is data stored and how is it protected?
TrailSim service data is stored primarily on Cloudflare infrastructure. Forms containing personal information are write-only from the public website; there is no public endpoint for reading submitted requests or order records. Access is limited to service operations, and sensitive eSIM activation profiles are stored in encrypted form.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. If you believe information has been exposed or misused, contact support@trailsim.com.
Does TrailSim use cookies or behavioral advertising?
TrailSim pages do not use tracking cookies, third-party analytics scripts or behavioral advertising. A third-party service you choose to open, such as Stripe checkout, may use cookies under its own policy.
How long is data kept?
We retain report requests, service correspondence and order records for as long as reasonably needed to provide support, protect the service and meet legal or accounting obligations. Anonymous or aggregated usage information may be retained for service analysis. You may request deletion as described below, subject to records we are required to keep.
What privacy choices do you have?
You may ask to access, correct or delete personal data associated with your email address. Depending on your location, additional rights may apply. Email support@trailsim.com; we may need to verify that the request relates to you before acting on it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the last-updated date will change. Material changes affecting how we use existing contact information will be communicated where reasonably possible.
