Coverage comes from the FCC National Broadband Map (Broadband Data Collection): each U.S. provider files a propagation model of where it claims 4G LTE service, published per ~0.1 km² hexagon for outdoor and in-vehicle use (the strongest of the two is used here). Hexagons modelled at −100 dBm or stronger count as 4G/5G, weaker filed coverage counts as degraded signal, and no filed hexagon counts as no signal. This is a provider filing, not a field measurement — real signal varies with terrain, weather and network load.

How much data do I need for Appalachian Trail — Mid-Atlantic (Harpers Ferry–Bear Mountain)?
